Some people, I just inquired about a wheel on ebay, so I can make a set from the 3 good ones I have.

it's a "rear" but u can use on the front too without any issues.

I just assumed he would know if was a front or a rear

And he states it has a 245 tyre on which to my mind makes it a front, but I would think with a trade name like merc-alloys he would know

Isn't 8.5" the all round width for winter tyres?

Interestingly, I have seen a few CLS with 245 all round, the owner ditching the rear 275 for some reason.

One could spec the CLS to have 8.5" with 245 all round from the factory
