Car
Audi R8 V10 Plus . MRC Tuned 655BHP Larini Exhaust.
And tell me not to do it !!!!

I `,ve got a real hankering for a V8 R8.

The prob is, I cant afford one and keep the 507......

I have the itch now and it`s beating me up inside, there is one near me and its just so berludddy lovely !!!

aaarghhhhhhhh What shall I do ????????? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

What year is the one you've seen?

I have to be honest, if I could afford one, it would be a no brainer IMO

Go and drive it, i think you'd be disappointed after a 507 (and probably regret swapping)

..The V10, however...

No, I mean there is an owner near me with one, It`s on private plates so not sure of the age Gary.

However, the dealers I bought my Merc from have one in at the minute, 15 plate. low mileage, s tronic......

It`s a car I have dreamt of for ages, and if I really put my mind to it I can find the money one way or the other, just don't wanna regret it !

As above only worth doing so for the latest v10.

Poor mans lambo? Vag too humm sorry don't do nowt for me. Would be a boring world tho if we all liked the same thing i suppose lol

Could you get away with 2 seats and not have a 4 seater fallback?

I know an R8 will turn heads more than any W204 63, but it has less power, similar performance, and you're losing out on some practicality for the sake of a bit more road presence. and obviously it won't sound nearly as good as the AMG N/A V8.

I'll slap you silly if you want :D

For me would have to be the R8 but wait until you can afford it

I have to be honest, you're not going to willy wave by doing a 0-60mph sprint everywhere. Well at least I don't, as it's impossible and stupid in most situation on our crappy roads.

Cars like the C63 and R8 (V8 and V10 form) are an event to drive, regardless of the numbers. I love blipping and making noise in my C63 in almost all situations, without having to do a drag race everywhere.... The R8 is the same kind of car IMO.

Life is too short to listen to a bunch of people you dont know, talking about a car they have no intention of owning or dislike.

I would suggest having a go a in one. My one and only passenger ride in one, made me come away thinking - I want one. The C63 is probably quicker in a willy waving competition. But in all honesty, who cares? The R8 is an event, just as much as the C63.

All IMO. I buy cars for how they make me feel, not what the numbers say.

Hi Gaz, I completely agree with you. 0-60 times being 0.5 sec either way I,m not ****d about. The noise ? yes could be a factor, but if the R8 handles anything like it`s supposed to, then that would compensate in my book, especially as that V8 lump is just behind your head ! Its not my only car , as my Mrs has an SQ5 and I also have a VWT5 van, so it`s not like I am ******g myself up with a two seater......
Gonna have to go for a test ride and begin the thinking process......

What`s wrong with V8 Adam ?

Might be worth checking your local Audi dealer/service centre is a designated " Sports Centre" i.e. with staff capable of dealing with the A8 / RS models. Assuming you intend getting it serviced locally by AUDI that is??

Not at all, the Audi V8s are hardly lacking in musical ability.

Under the circumstances I'd probably go for it. The C63, as fantastic as it is, is a spectacular engine surrounded by the trappings of a humdrum repmobile. You can't buy a diesel R8, there's no question which is the bigger event.

Cue the vitriolic abuse and hate mail from the C63 community. :ban:

Everyone should experience a V8 at least once in their lives.

Sadly my last experience of one was about 40 years ago.

I'm biased as (a bit of a numberphile/speedwhore) I owned Stage 2 TT RS that was a hair quicker than the V10 Plus, drove one and it seemed like the V8 was a bit of a step down to me personally - but there just seems to be a lack of drama about the engine unless you have a system fitted and I personally think it looks very aged versus the facelift V10

ha ha ! yes there a few on here that will come to gobble you up now !

I,m not like that ! Everyone is entitle to voice their opinion but I would never demean anyone else`s metal.

I think this is my point. Throwing a leg in a C63 is a very special feeling, but even as I drive around in it and enjoy it, when I see an R8 I just think.....mmmmmmmmmm and go all warm and mushy ......

As I said last week on here, I feel after my C63 I have nowhere to go, but that is within this genre of car...M3, M4 , M6 , RS6, saloon /estate brutes.

I really believe that the R8 is `upping the anty`, but I have to justify the extra cost too. e.g. is really worth and an extra £30k ish....
