I spent the day at the Nurburgring on Monday. There was a closed-session that day, with MANY MANY stunning cars, including a decent smattering of AMG Mercedes. However one particular Merc caught my eye - a GORGEOUS SLS AMG.

From a distance, I could tell it had the special AMG paint, the Ceramic Brakes, and on closer inspection, it has the AMG Bucket seats, too.
Speaking to the owner, he had owned it for only 4 weeks, coming from an SL65 AMG beforehand :thumb:

Anyway, onto the photos, for your pleasure :)

Lovely car. Never mind car park dinks, you could take the mirrors off the car next to you with those doors!

Oh WOW! Wow wow wow!

I love that car...how do many of you get to got to these 'closed' events???

Having been fortunate enough to see at least 6 of these at MBW my preferred colour is petrol blue or white, both are equally stunning...

That's a very cool car

I'm sure I could get to drive one of those, would no doubt need to buy a games console to do it mind

The car ticks all the right buttons in the performance area but there is something that the shape doesn't do for me.

I can't quite put my finger on it.

Popped into Derby MB today and they had a SLS in the AMG section. red leather interior, car looks good in the flesh. speedo goes to 240mph which I though was quite cool. sills are abit of a dog to get over but the doors are great!

Front looks OK, it is the rear end that seems to have lost the plot. very plain?

This one I have seen in MK a few days ago.

What a sweet machine..!!!

Think I need to see one close up, and then start saving.
Still must stick with "the silver is the wrong colour".
Red, any shade,
Blue, any shade, especially those ice colours they did, even light greens.

I still think Orange though! roll on that Lotto win.

Nice car (and pics :)), only let down I feel by the plastic airbag, should be stitched/embossed leather IMHO:

Not a great photo of the stitching/leather (old one of mine) but it's a start:

There weren't any UK cars there, although I randomly met a UK ex-pat driving another RS4 :D
Most cars were German, a few Swiss, French and Luxembourg registered cars. There was even some guy who had driven down from Norway to track his Ferrari Calfornia! It was a training day. They appeared to go out in groups (hence the window stickers). A C63, Audi R8 or Porsche Turbo were leading the groups - it was quite a sight!

I wasn't part of the event I should add. Just happened to be there :o

Guessing that's an MB press car. The one in this week's Autocar is KP10 NWA.
Maybe it was, belongs to a local bouncer now..!!! Seems like a nice chap untill he realises ur names not down - ur not coming in.

OK, I take it back. I could live with that. I did think the rear was a bit sad looking, but overall.....fan-blooming-tastic!

think its very plain looking to most other cars Merc have produced, sorry !! I bet it is definitely a big case of less is more (cash) How much are they ??

It's the rear lights that are wrong.

Modern but not retro enough in styling to make it flow into the design

The side windows looks too square and what are those things stuck low down on the door of the ring one?

I'd still have one though....
