Sony Vaio VGN-TX2XP Bang

actuly not a bang but dead anyway , well not dead but power light comes on no screen display, no hard drive spinning up, tried all sort still no go. no beeps or anything. removed ram, left overnight without battery....

So took out hard drive and will try to get data off it tomorrow when i can get a zif to ide caddy.

oh well got thrre years use out of it ordered a new replacement, another viao
will be here tomorrow, :bannana: see how long it lasts..............

Sell it for spares on ebay.... my mate just sold one for spares... £72

We have a VAIO too and just started to have a look around to see what the cheapest VAIOs are retailling for. Seems £500 is the entry point at PCWorld and Comet.

If you do get an extended warranty... my screen packed up 1 month after warranty.. £500 to replace... ouch

have you tied external monitor, if works then prob inverter about 15-30 quid, if screen prob get replacement around 150-250
