Spare bulb kits

Hi there, does anyone know how much Mercedes charge for a set of spare bulbs for an E Class estate? We're venturing across the channel in the summer and need to be prepared. Many thanks.

£30 according to the online shop of various MB dealerships. I'll be calling my local dealer parts counter this week for one.

Thanks. We've ordered everything else we need off the Internet as all the prices seemed reasonable. I don't know if genuine MB bulbs are any better than universal bulbs but they are certainly more expensive: I'll have to look into it or does anyone else know the difference?

I'll ask for a discount at the MB parts counter, but even so they will be more expensive and no better quality than something the Ring kit below. I'm hoping that the MB kit has a perfect match between bulbs in the kit and what's fitted to the car.

I suspect the generic kits are close but not exact matches so some bulbs might be "wrong" and Sod's law say they'll be the ones you need!!

Thanks for that. I'll ask at the dealership and see what they say as I don't want to be stuck in France (I don't speak the lingo fluently).

With any kit dont assume it will be exactly right for your car. I have the Halfords one in the 124. When a tail light went I realised the bulb in the kit was only 5w (early 124) rather than the 10w I needed.

Exactly why I make up my own , by purchasing all the lamps individually .

I've got a set of genuine MB ones I had for the 2010 E Coupe. When I looked at them I realised that the only lamp on mine that was covered was the number plate lamp as it had adaptive bi-Xenon headlights and LED tail and indicator lights! Couldn't see where any of the others were of use.

I have a set of universal bulbs in a nice solid plastic case from (I thing) Lidl. It is still plastic wrapped. It must be doing its thing still from 3 or four cars ago!
I also have a note from MB UK stating that the Zenon headlamps are only MB serviceable.

IF I should get pulled, and I check my lights regularly too, I am quite prepared to argue my case.

P.
