Spare Keys

Anyone had any experience with www.replacementmercedeskeys.co.uk for a spare set of keys?

Aparently he is is the only alternative to the dealers to a spare set. has quoted me £165 for a spare key for my 2005 C-class which includes him visiting me at home to do the job. Main dealers want £230, just after some feedback on service etc or any other alternatives out there.

I think what he will do is program a "blank" key using your spare key as the master.
The chip in the new key will be reprogrammed to match the spare.

This can be done providing you have the necessary hardware and software but its expensive and difficult to obtain. I have been given to believe they can be obtained from the far east and therefore are not MB approved or warranted.
However, provided the new key works, what the heck. You have saved mucho dosho.


Also............I always thought "the other side" referred to (cough) BMW (cough).
