Spare tyre and tyrefit bottle

It only just occurred to me that it's slightly odd that my car has the tirefit temporary fix can, but also has a spare wheel.

Is this perhaps because the spare won't fit over the front discs? Or is it just a belt and braces approach?

Are you the original owner, or did someone else decide that they don't trust the goop and bought a spare?

I also thought it was one or the other. - I've got a space saver spare and that's it, but maybe things have changed since mine was made.

Good thinking - I bet the spare tyre was bought afterwards by a previous owner. That also explains why I don't have the under-boot caddy thing that I've seen sat on top of the tyre in other cars I looked at.
