I looked at this but couldn’t bring myself to remove the inner rear panel(s) so I just throw one my spare wheels in the back if I am driving abroad or long distance. A friend did manage to fit a space saver to one of the rear doors on his, as he had the barn doors fitted rather than the tailgate. He ply lined one lower panel of one door iirc
IIRC the Compact (now called L1) used to have the spare on a bracket on the side wall at the back, but I guess that's removed if it's paneled ... or maybe it's been dropped now (as with many cars). Do you have the 'can of sealant and compressor' kit somewhere? We tow a caravan with ours and having a proper spare (well, it's a 16" steel wheel) was one of the reasons we went for the Long (which isn't actually much bigger).
PS there's no such thing as an SWB Vito - the Compact and Long (L1 and L2) both have the same wheelbase. The Extra Long (L3) has an extended wheelbase.
Not had my Vito 116 Blue Tec Compact long and wondering if its possible to fit a spare wheel carrier under the van between the back axle and the rear bumper.(17 inch wheels) The vehicle came with a spare wheel bracket on the inside of the van. I am well into converting the vehicle to a camper. Nobody wants to sleep with the spare wheel so the spare will need to relocated or replaced by goo Has any one had a go at doing this
Many Thanks

That's where the spare goes on the Long and Extra Long, but there isn't enough space on the Compact as it's shorter there. Sealant/compressor is probably your best bet.
