Maybe a very silly question gents here goes anyway, just purchased set of plugs. Question is do they need gapping or are those days long gone??

Most NGK Iridium plugs have pre-set gaps so don't need setting, but this depends on the model of the plug.

You need to check the plug's manufacturer's specification for your engine.

Or post the plug's model number and someone will look it up for you.

I changed the plugs on my CLK a few months ago, no setting required.
I found it easier to use a universal joint next to spark plug spanner.

As above, they will probably be pregapped but you can verify that, just to make sure, as it doesn't take long.

Plug number is08/03-1lfr6a-3588

NGK? Give them a call. They have been very helpful when I asked them on the gap size for my plugs (different model to yours). They also checked out okay when I measured them afterwards.

PS: It's ILFR6A 3588.

Haven't changed any plugs for years, but I think it's all ways worth checking, how long does it take?

Just under 1 hour, but only has 6 plugs

Thanks for that info, did you gap them or didn't you bother?

I don't remember my mechanic gapping them ..
