Looking to get a major service done, anyone recommend an indi in Edinburgh area ?
Also, what should be done on a major service ? should it include ATF - or are they sealed units ?

Only guys I could recommend are in Stirling.

Major service would include all filters, ATF would be done if this hasn't been done in xx miles, someone can advise on the mileage but I'd be looking at something like 60k.

You need to find out if 7G or 7G+, it will be 40,000 or 70,000 miles depending on which it is.

If your in Glasgow anytime, these guys are experts on Mercedes boxes and do ATF changes for half what Mercedes charge. I believe they even do all the Mercedes warranty work on auto boxes, in Scotland/UK at least.

Thanks for that, but I want a service done as well, dont want to go tp 2 different places, especially in Glasgow as its 50 - odd miles away from me.

I'd agree with rf065 regarding Mackies - worth a trip to Glasgow in my book. I haven't used them myself (yet) but my Jag will be going there for its auto trans fluid change in due course.
