Any recommendations?

Never used them but this garage advertise being a Mercedes specialist:

Euro Car Care101, Peterborough Rd, Farcet, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire PE7 3BN Tel: 01733 894441

I think there's a garage specialising in German cars in Longthorpe too, opposite the Pub.

Belated thanks, I found the one in Longthorpe, TWG is their name and Mercs Porches and some other autobahn buster is their game. Sensible helpful people.

I agree, used to use TWG when they were based in Stamford. They looked after my Golf GTi and Porsche 944S and were always knowledgeable and good value for money :D

Hmmmm

Just been to TWG, not sure they know what a W203 is.
Called them a week last Thursday for my heating problems (I suspect it's thermostat, not a major thing I know, but I thought I'd try 'em out as I was going to try them for servicing) and they said bring it down today.

Just been there, there wanted to know why I had turned up. I told them; they agreed a bit hesitantly to look. Chap came out, started engine. Stared at the dash for a good 30seconds before asking me where the temp. guage was. So, I showed him the access thru' the steering wheel controls. I told him about the heater booster staying on as the coolant doesn't reach 80deg. He said "what's the heater booster?" I said the extra heater as it's a diesel. He said "oh, is that the noisy thing?".

At this point I wasn't overly sure if they knew their @r$e from their elbow. I declined them to look further at the car; I'll stick with main dealer for now, unless anyone knows of any other "specialist" around Peterborough?

Sorry for moan

Had similar experience with these guys, took the porsche down with a speedo problem, they gave ridiculous sugestion ie to change the whole dash for a pre85 and fit a cable, mine has an electronic one but an early gearbox with no sensor, wouldn't go back as they didn't seem as ethusiastic as i'd have liked, also I have fixed the speedo with a readily available transducer and a home made bracket.
