I sem to recall that there was a company specialising in insurance on older high group cars (300e-24v) where mileage was low (3K pa or so)

Ring bells with anybody?

Thanks

I'm using a broker called 'Sureterm Direct' (0870 20 20 230) who have access to something called 'Cherished Car Insurance' underwritten by Allianz Cornhill.

I found them to be extremely competitive: £460 fully comp with no no claims and 3pts on the licence. Mileage limited to 5K. Interestingly, the policy doesn't build any no claims bonus, hence the apparent disregard for my not having any to start with?

I saw a thread on another forum recently where the poster had recently acquired a Capri 2.8S and his insurance was £150. Someone asked for details and he posted:

Liverpool Victoria.

I have a fantastic policy with them.

I have all four cars on one policy, with one renewal and one big dollup of NCB.

At the moment I have this lot covered...

Ferrari 328 GTS
BMW 328 Coupe
capri 2.8 Injection
Mini 1275GT

The total premium is £1,100 and they are all fully comp and unlimited mileage.

I use Liverpool Victoria myself on both my cars, and they were pretty well the cheapest on my C270, especially bearing mind their 5 star rating. I get a 7.5% discount through CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association) as my wife qualifies for membership. What Car's cover is also through LV, so it might be worth trying one of their offer codes.

MCE was also mentioned by another poster in the above thread, but I don't anything about them:
