Specialist Southwest Devon and Cornwall

Any recommendations for an independent specialist in Devon/Cornwall.

2001 CLK320 petrol.

Engine is not picking up well on throttle too well and does not run up to top speed.

Last garage in Exeter that looked at it and said it was the plugs. Then after changing about 6 (£521) later, and no better, said it was the msf or something like that. I said fine, change it, but if it is not the problem, then I am not going to pay for it (another £350). So they changed it and surprise surprise, no better. So I said take the new one off and we will leave it for the moment. The problem I could see was that with a 13 year old car, the garage could end up replacing everything around the engine fuel injection, engine management etc and I would be spending more on the car than it was worth.

So any recommendations much appreciated

Nice bunch of people and they do know what they are talking about when dealing with MB cars.

I have used Mercare (Plymouth) once before, quite happy with the job and price. It was a few years ago (5-6 years) and it was only a very small job.

No recent experience, but I would be happy to use them again based on my previous experience.
