Maybe they want to offer a special discount if you've done an SAC

It only cost me £30 more to insure with someone else ... let's hope this doesn't become standard practice.

It costed me about £100 extra on top of around £600, for 2 or 3 years. I was able to minimase it for two years, when I added my friend as name driver and it went down by £70. In last year, when I got quote to add second car to policy, I asked them to remove my SAC, as it was 5 years old and quote went down by £200! So I think, SAC costed me couple of hundreds over the years.
