Is anyone aware of such a thing.... a normal blue motorway sign as such:

I forget which motorway it was, but on one of the motorways between the trafford centre and preston (either M60, 61, 62 or 6 I think) I spotted three road signs like the one above apart from they had a yellow square on them... are they hiding cameras? And if soo what are they? specs or something? I just found it odd to spot three rather than 2 or 4, unless they werent cameras at all.... any ideas?

i think it has something to do with a route around Manchester, such as a ring road affair.

The answer to that question can be determined simply by watching any yellow cross hatch box at a junction, the signalling behaviour at any roundabout, and pedestrians stepping out at pelican crossings when the amber lights start to flash.
