I have a friend who have a Pagoda SL, W113. He has changed the rear axle on it, from 4.08:1 to 3.69:1. He also says that it might have gotten a rear axle with 3.69:1.

I do not know how the W113 get the "signal" to speedometer, but I guess it is from the gear box, and then the speedometer would indicate wrong speed.
If it is from the wheel, it would not be affected.

Does anybody know if the W113 get the "signal" from the gear box?

I think he might be out on a little fishing expedition, he was stopped and fined by the police for getting too much wind in his hair ;)

Speedo is mechanical cable drive from rear of gearbox. According to EPC there is a different speedo head available to mate with a 3.69:1 ratio.

You can get a new speedo head or you can get the existing one re-calibrated. There's a few places that can do this.
