i had the same problem with my w202
i had to get a comlete cluster from the scrapy and put my clocks in!
my perspex was glued in
i did atemp to take it out and only made it worse!

Just been up to main stealer...instrument cover W208 £97+ vat...Think I will look for a 2nd hand pod and frag it.

What I did was to get a similar, complete cluster from a scrap yard, £20, and swap over the front halve, this is a W202 below, yours may be much the same set up.

Well its great that they actually sell it seperately.. for most models the instrument cluster is supplied as a sealed unit.

Exactly my thoughts. I would have expected the reply of "only part of the full cluster, please bend over sir"
