LOL!!! Just managed to find this thread! I guess I have alot to learn about the hidden functions on this forumn! And yes, subtle isn't the word I usually use for my baby. I'll get some pics as soon as there it stops raining; which considering british winters, might not be until august ;)

Anyways, the angel eyes are due to go on, as is a new exhaust system. The body-kit is delayed as I just realised that it would be a good idea to "waxoyl" (or however its spelt, I had never even heard of it before chatting to you guys!).

Aw man! That's looking proper sick! It feels like an evo with those alloys and the vinyl. You might wanna tuck those neons away tho, if the fuzz can see the tubes, they'll bust your ass LA style.

Looks like I've got a challenge.

Spinal, now I understand where you are coming from. I didn't realise what you wanted from your project and how far you had already got.

Will be interested to see your choice in exhaust. I it the twin exit one from Mercedes Performance?

Hello! Yeah, I think im gonna go with the twin exhaust from merc perf. The neons have been mounted such that as soon as the side skirts go on, they dissapear, leaving only a nice blue glow.

apart from the neons, the car looks ok with those wheels (cant see much else!)

i know your young, but its a merc at the end of the day, it`ll just get laughed at instead of respected if you cheapofy it! do it to a nova and it may be cool, to a merc.. big no no!

FYI, i used to have a ford orion with neons... 8 years ago!!

its like one of those phases that goes away, one year its cool, then its not, now its the rage again!... not on my merc tho! ;)

My word I despise neons. I hate all the other boy racer bollocks too, but neons are just nasty.

Not a fan of bodykits either. Mercedes spend silly money designing these cars, a £500 bodykit won't make it look better.

And before anyway calls me a grumpy old man, I'm 19 too. I just like my cars subtle. Power is fine, but understated is necessary.

Saw a link a few days ago for a 1.3 mk3 escort with the cosworth turbo engine and 4x4 running gear. Thats a cool car.

You're 19 too?! What do you drive?

Jeez, I feel less and less special every day now. :\

A 190E 2.6, and a BMW 320i.

The 190E is nice, when I don't have the engine in bits. The BMW is a total dog and I hate it with a seething passion.

Should really get myself another bike when I stop buying cars too, its been 6 months out of the saddle now.

Thats the feelings I'm used to coping with! :D Hate! anger! Confusion! Utter despair!

Actually, the main reason I mod the merc (I generally don't body-mod my cars) is that I've never seen a merc with junk on it ;) Plus, I am saving up for an upgrade, so most of my mods aren't too expensive, if i see something on ebay for 20/30£, ill get it (neons, 27£; vinyls £25). By upgrade I really mean keep saving up, then get some insurance quotes and give up the whole idea and spend the money on an Alienware laptop. But, its a way to use free time I don't really have :D. Not too mention, there is this great feeling of having all the boy racers in their fiat cinquecento's revving their engines and speeding off at the street-lights, while I just sit there and laugh. The only thing I will compete with (I know, its immature, but this is something I truly love) is sound. I can pump 800Watts rms (1800max) out of my boot; and I can assure you, there is nothing better than seeing the look on peoples faces when their oem cinq stereos blaring gets overpowered by 800watts of teletubbies theme music! (or classical music, which I actually like). Its... amusing...

This said, the inside of my merc is undergoing very few mods, its the comfiest car ive ever had! Driving wise, nothing beats an Opel Monterrey 3.2 turbo-diesel intercooler; with standard diplomat mods. (fine, not my car, but as it was my moms, I got to drive it quite often). That car is great. Feels like a tank, drives like a merc, and gets the priviledges of a dimplomat (diplomatic plates fitted). Unbeatable... sigh...

I better go, I have a nice long java program due in a couple of days and I haven't started it yet. Anyone care to help me creating a Java Applet that allows a user to pay minefield (non copywrighted version of minesweeper!).
