Sport mode self activating

Guys i have got a 08 c320 cdi sport and i have noticed it keep putting its self in sport. ( the button on the dash lights up ) so the suspension stiffens up and the gearbox goes in to S.

I tried to disconnect the battery to see if it would clear its brain but its still doing it.

Its due a service in feb so was going to see if it could be plugged in to see what the problem is.

Any one come across this before ?

oh when its lit it wont allow you top turn it off.

only had it about 3 weeks, i thought it self activated when you booted it lol

then i noticed it turned it self on after 2 mins of driving.

I have a 08 C220 CDI, and my car have the same problem.

I have this same problem on my 08 C320 CDI sport. With the electrics on (engine off) sometimes I can press the Sport button on the centre console, the light on the button goes out and C is displayed on the dash instead of S but as soon as I start the engine it automatically switches back to S. Other times I can stab the button as much as I like and nothing happens!

Seem to be a few people with the same problem, has anyone figured it out yet? Thought I was being stupid and doing something wrong but not so sure now. I haven't tried disconnecting the battery yet.

I've had exactly the same problem too. Only seems to happen on the odd occasion on cold winter mornings. Took it to indy whilst the car was in the locked sport mode but couldn't find any faults.

Hi all, I too have the same issue. When I first switch on the engine I can toggle the sport mode on and off. As soon as I pull away it puts itself into sport and you can't turn it off.
There's no errors from the ECU read about and even with the ECU reading tool, you can't disable sport when it turns itself on. Mercedes now want to do a full fact finding job but said it may cost £££'s and they might not fix it.
Has anyone had any success sorting this yet?

I know that this is an old thread but, I have exactly the same issue with my 2008 c320 cdi sport. Self changes to sport after a 100 yards or so, will not reset.
I can change to comfort when just starting and at a stand still.
Seems very odd and have thought that as it is a sport, maybe it automatically defaults to the sport setting? So why have a comfort setting that you can only access when stood?
Any help appreciated.
