Hi,

I drive a c36, I understand that the suspension is the same as a C-Klass sport car.

Does anyone else feel that the suspension is a bit harsh on UK's shoddy roads (well they are round Dorset).

I used to have a 190e and wanted to lower it to make it look cooler (if that is possible) so I fitted a set of Eibach springs. The result was fantastic, brilliant improvement in ride height and braking but there was little noticable reduction in ride quality after the new springs were fitted.

Has anyone tried changing their sport springs for springs that still maintained the ride height (or lowered it) but improved the ride quality when going over bumps in the road?

Many thanks

Merry Christmas

I doubt it is the same as the standard Sport. I have a sport and find the ride a bit soggy and un sporting. Direct to comparison to a BMW 3 Series with M-Tec suspension it is anyway.

Shock Horror

I have nothing against 190's, I loved mine for 5 years right up to the point I crashed it.

It was a lovely '91 metallic blue 190E 2.0. It had about 50k on the clock and was immaculate inside and out. A very sad day.

What I meant was that they are near perfect. I especially like the tail end design and shape. Lowering it could only improve it very slightly. Sorry for the confusion.

My replacement car was a smelly old Sierra 1.8LX for 6 months while I battled with my insurer for a decent payout. Once paid, I went in search for a straight six Merc. I had heard that a 2.6 190e was not the best choice and also I was finding few low mileage 190's, so I searched for a c280. Near impossible. I wanted a Silver C280 elegance with air and leather, nothing doing. So I aimed a little higher and looked at 4x c36. I got the one with the most toys and best drive.

However, I am tiring of the suspension and am considering a set of Eibach springs for my c36, as the ride is a little too bumpy for my derriere.

I was hoping if anyone could make suggestions for the c36. I noticed someone has a H&R spring set on their c36 and wondered what the feedback on that choice might be along with any other info.

Merry Christmas.
