I like the look of this 190D 2.5 Sportline 74k with full history.

I quite like the 190 but that so called 'AMG' W124:eek:

Thats just horrible. Its been badly painted, the panels don't Line up, there's dodgy looking wiring in the engine bay, the interior is horrible... that steering wheel is just gross.

To me that car looks like its had a very hard life. Its certainly been in the hands of a buffoon.

Sod that, its got a Big Star!

You not think that 190 is riding a bit 'low' even for one fitted with sportline chassis and suspension?

The W124 is 14 years old, not 12. No mileage is mentioned, so it must be a large figure. It would need a lot of work.

It might look sporty, but the E300D is very sedate and its performance in no way justifies an AMG body kit. Looks like someone sold the AMG alloy wheels separately, and reverted to standard steels.

I have the later E300D Multivalve, which has a lot more power but is still very sedate, unless you manually hold it in the lower gears and/or use kickdown.

But apart from that; would you buy it? :D

That steering wheel does catch the eye :)

I suppose we all have different tastes and someone, somewhere will give it a home.

John

The e300 has either had a frontal or someone's sold the front bumper, I doubt its the latter. Its not an AMG bumper and IMO the car looks odd with AMG skirts, rear bumper, ducktail but not a front bumper with the fogs and those hub caps.

The 300 looks like it's had a rear end bump too.

The boot is a touch out of line. And why oh why would you leave the worst looking ever trims on a car with an AMG body kit? It just makes the car look crap, and the kit moody/

All in all it's a heap. And, as said ^^^, probably showing 200 - 300k mileage.

The 190 looks ok......... For a 190.

I might be mistaken but I don't think the Sportline chassis was available on diesels. It doesn't have a S'line interior anything I can identify as S'line.

Maybe just lowered & a Cosworth spoiler added?

Need the VIN to be sure.

that w124 has been sold on ebay 3 times previously, some trader has bought it now and is trying to flog it on ebay and autotrader. STAY CLEAR. the 190 on the otherhand looks very nice especially in bornite but it seems way too low for a sportsline, maybe aftermarket job.

I asked the 190 D owner the following:

"Your car has a standard cloth interior, not Sportline. Are you sure it's a Sportline? Why do you think it is?"

He replied:

"previous owner told me if you know different please let me know thanks mike."

He won't divulge the VIN or use the Russian VIN de-coding site & copy & paste the results, so I'd have to come to the conclusion........

Well you can figure it out.

That's an interesting one. If it was genuinely made in 1997, that would be two years after production of the W124 saloon ended in Germany.

So where might it have been made? Perhaps India, from a CKD kit?
