Hi

I treated by SL to a machine polish the other month. Unfortunatly this has left the convertable roof with some small splatter dots of wax.

Does anyone have any advice on what to use on it to get rid of the dots?

I've tried;

- rubbing with stiff brush
- stiff brush and white spirit - dissapears but reappears once dry
- normal car wash - dissapears but reappears when dry

i'm thinking of trying some washing up liquid or stain remover stuff.

Does anyone have any advice?

cheers

Derek

Can you not blot it up with some paper and an iron?

Jetwash?

not sure if jetwashes and 107's should mix :D

it was a couple of months ago now when it got on there.

might sound stupid but the official Smart Car fabric roof cleaner was a good selling product and many 107 owners I knew praised it. Not sure on price but could be worth a try.

Try spotting it with washing up liquid, leave it 20 mins, then rub with clean sponge, dont use a wire brush, this would make the roof "furry"

MB do a soft top cleaner, you might want to "try it out before you buy" from your local MB Dealer.

I got the spots of wax off the roof today with some "1001 cleaner" in a aerosol & brush. thanks for all the replies.

Do you have a snow foam gun? If so try covering your roof with that and add a spray and bit of all purpose cleaner on top aswell see if that works after agitating a bit.
