Hi Guys
I bought this spring compressor http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merc...ryZ35625QQihZ007QQitemZ170107526954QQtcZphoto

It is supposed to do the front and rear of the W202 but when I tried it on my front springs the thread on the bar protruded beyond the top plate which stopped me removing the spring it was catching on the spring retainer part.

I even removed the shock absorber completely to give me more room to try and get it out but the top of the bar would not come down far enough.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Make sure the plates are wound as far as possible to the top and bottom of the spring. It takes a few attempts to get is right.

Hi BlackC55

Thanks for the tip,I thought I did get them as far as possible but I will certainly give it another try

Incidently I have just purchased one from the same seller you bought it from. How long did it take to arrive?

It took just over a week and he gives you a tracking number,it is also a good bit of gear (well made and not rubbish I am very pleased with mine when you consider the price from Mercedes)

Thanks for that.

Thats good to hear as buying online from a foreign country is a little risky.

I have brought several tools from this seller and they have arrived quickly and well packed, the quality has been good too, I think my spring compressor came in about 4 days! Its great at the moment with the dollar near 2 to the £, my Snap On tools wish list is getting shorter by the week :-)

I have just ordered some diagnostic gear from the states too. Paid half the money compared to over here.

Hi Willy
