I am going to be fitting an Eibach pro kit to my 99 CLK 230K. I have done a bit of digging and it seems like most people fit a #2 spring pad to the front to even the drop out.

I have never heard of spring pads before so please help!

Do i just get them from the dealers?

Anyone got a part number etc?

Does anyone know the part number for W124 spring pads? Im probably going to go for the thinnest ones as I currently have number 4 at the front, cant see whats at the back...

Also are they the same front & back?

Fronts are much larger for the larger diameter springs...

Your dealer can find you the part number very easily...

What are these and what do they do and where do they go?

Rubber pads that isolate the top of the spring from the bodywork - available in different thicknesses to account for different vehicle specs/options (and hence weights) from the factory, or after market as a cheap/quick way of lowering the car slightly (but not as much as proper spring kits, or sport pack springs).
