spring pads

with out taking off my springs how can i tell what pads are fitted ? or can I .

You can turn the wheel to full lock and get your head inside the wheel arch and look upwards at the pads themselves.

They have identifying bumps on them to signify which pads they are.

I tried this today but had no idea where i should be looking there was no obvious pad

Ypou need to look up into the cups.
