Oh dear! just failed an MOT on a broken front spring. Will get my local mechanic involved this time, much easier with a ramp and spring compressor. There are several makes available, ie, Sachs, Bilstein, Monroe, etc. Any preferences? I will probably do both sides, not knowing what make the healthy spring is.

Sachs are fine, as are the others to be fair.

Kyb is also decent, just depend on cost

Go to a dealers , they aren't too pricey.

Why not Mercedes?

You will know that it is correct for the vehicle. MB springs have a colour code on the spring.

Give MB main dealer a try first . After much seeking and research I could not find the correct Eibach AMG springs for my C55 (I did , but Eibach Germany would not sell them to me ) MB Newcastle managed to track a pair down and they were reasonably priced.

I replaced a pair of front springs on my previous W211. From memory they were under £75 each from Mercedes and the correct rating for the car 👍
