All is well in my world. Sunny warm day, 5.5 Litres of AMG V8, and 4 new refurbished alloys looking like new (www.WheelRepairIt.com - just the best, throughly recommended!, good price and they come to you)

Looks fantastic, I need a refurb on my alloys eventually, although it is just the lacquer peeling on the shiny outer rim as opposed to kerbing. Interested to hear about your intended suspension mods.

Mine is also running very sweetly and it still brings a huge smile to my face when I turn the engine on and tweak the throttle. It is difficult to resist the urge of planting my foot down on an open road! Since getting mine I ve had it serviced at MB (A service) and given it some paint treatment (it needs more). New reg to be transfered in the next few weeks. To come is:
- full set of new tyres
- wire brush and paint all the brake calipers
- polish up my exhuast tip ( seems to be the done thing on here at the mo :-) )ha ha
- sort out dead pixels in the clocks console
- gearbox oil change/ change to braided brake pipes / sort heavily corroded exhaust bolts (booked in to Olly's @ PCS next month.

Pics of mine are HERE

Very nice indeed - are WheelReparirIt national? (I'm south London/North Kent)

Suspension mods? Not me, I like things completely standard, can't even abide dealer stickers on the rear window.

So far mines had

Private Plate
2 x new cluster bulbs for the speedo
Fix to the driver climate control 'Auto' button
Fix to two air vents
New windscreen (other cracked in the cold)
3 arches treated with POR15 to stop any rust forming
If I apply any more leather conditioner I will resurrect the cow!
New oil filter and 7.5 litres of Fuchs fully synthetic oil (www.opieoils.co.uk :) ), can't believe how easy it was to change, just for piece of mind
All four alloys refurbished - they had been done but not to the standard I wanted - now they really are as good as new, probably better actually

Really really happy with the interior of mine now, looks immaculate and everything just works perfect.
Just waiting to book the car in to MB to have the tiny bit of rust done on the inside of the offside rear wheel arch.
Drives fantastic, still getting used to the power - even from coming from a TVR Griffith 500 - it feels immense
Got used the gearbox now as well - manual overide works completely different from any auto I had driven before. 2nd gear, 4000 revs demolishes everything.

Pete - If you want to remove the console to do your pixels let me know and I will drop the proper MB tools in the post to you to borrow as I bought them to replace my speedo bulbs.

Yours looks great - just need to get those arches done! :)

They are based in Essex so they might come down to you. I have used them for all my cars, they do a proper job - de-beading the tyre so when the lacquer is applied it covers the whole rim. That way water cannot get under it and cause the sort of peeling thats very common with refurbished alloys after a few months.
The best thing is they come to you - usually in a massive MB Sprinter van that has all the kit on board . They do require access to mains power though.

Sorry I misunderstood the title of your thread - doh  I read 'springs coming' to be - "ah he's bought some new suspension springs", as opposed to "the sun is out and its April"! Sorry for being a little bit thick this evening!

I am definately with you - standard is best. Would like to see a few pics of your interior. Mine is looking good inside but there is a 3" scrape on the passenger seat leather which is probably permament!

Will take you up on your offer off the MB tools - I'll PM you my address.

I haven't even tried the manual function on the auto box! Olly @ PCS gave it a road test (floored it from about 25mph) and the kickdown and smoothness of the box was just as it should be.

Spring - hehe!

Will take a few of the interior but its virtually perfect. Rears never looked like they have have been sat in. The leather on the outside of the drivers seat had dried out a bit but some quality leather conditioner and a toothbrush soon sorted that. Leather marks can be sorted easily. I had a fag burn in the leather of my TVR and the guy who fixed it was a genius. When I sold it last month I couldn't even find where the burn was. I think your probably to far away from him to use but someone local near you should sort it.

I will pop the dashboard tools in a jiffy sometime during the week :) - you will be stunned how easy the console comes out.

Can't PM you at the moment you don't have enough posts yet. Not sure how many you need, if its 20, if you reply to this I may be able to do it!

My rear seats are probably in a similar condition to yours, nigh on perfect. The unopened First Aid kit is still in the cubby on the parcel shelf - it must be original, all well and good, but after 8 years it will be well out of date!

lol - my first aid kit is the same. I was surprised it was still there. There was also a tool kit in the well of the spare wheel which I assume is original as well, although the spare has been used.

Have you removed the ski bag yet? If not then don't, its mission impossible to get back in :)
