Sprinter 906 Problem

Hi guys

I have a Sprinter from 2012 2.2 diesel, for over 2 years I have the ASR/ stability light come on intermittently. I stop the motor and restart and it seems to be fine for a couple of weeks. Recently it has come on more frequently, I have scanned and have an error code P2138 throttle sensor. Im sure they replaced this when I bough the van 3 years ago.

I went to the dealer and showed him this photo of the lights on the dash , with out hesitation he said its the wheel sensor, So i booked the van in.

Now Im wandering is it worthwhile taking the sensors out and cleaning them first before I get bent over from the dealer? Or should i just replace the throttle pedal?

Cheers

Hi

It’s not the throttle pedal, it’s the pin connection for the throttle pedal at the CDI control unit.

The pins are known to become loose.

Firstly disconnect both plug connectors of the CDI control unit, located in the engine compartment behind the headlamp.

Spray electrical cleaner in the plug connectors and the blow out with compressed air.

Try that. If the problem still persists then the pins will need replacing.
