Hi, can anyone tell me if a 2007 sprinter has a safety device that won't allow the engine to start if its at to high a temperature ?

It doesnt have an electronic cut out. But obviously if it gets really hot then it may not start due to being siezed!

At the times when I doesnt start, the glow plug light doesn't come on, and I also noticed that the heater fan doesn't come either. It only does it after it's been out on a run. I also noticed that when It does start all the dash lights go off apart from the management light (until its starts) but when it won't start the temp warning light stays on too. Hence, I was wondering if it was running hot, and when switched off it got hotter and triggered some saftey thing. I spoke to a mechanic who suspects it's an ecu problem. But he hasn't looked at the van yet.
