Sprinter with excessive white smoke

Hello again people.

Ok back to my bloody sprinter. Recently had an issue with it not starting after a service and a broken glow plug stuck inside, and that was fixed thankfully. Glow plug was removed but still wouldnt start. After several diagnostics and trial and error fixes it turned out to be a faulty injector which was replaced and possibly faulty wiring to the injectors. The main loom that goes to the injectors got moved around alot while removing the glow plug and we think it has a slight break somewhere. So when it wouldn't start I had to disconnect the electrical plug from the third injector ad reconnect. Anyway I digress.

My issue now is that ever since this incident, that I like to pretend never happened, I get white smoke when accelerating. And lots of white smoke if I sit idling for a short period and then pull away. To start I thought it could be because we tried so much easy start while trying to get it running the first time as bleeding wasn't working. But it now seems to be getting worse and it's alot of white smoke.

I know it would be easier for me to paste the link to my original post but I'm the iPhone app so it's a little difficult.

Low compression or an air leak into the fuel system.

Hmm well the mechanic has removed three of my injectors to test. Only three because the other one is stuck lol. So please let it be one of the others that has an issue!

Ok all four replaced. No white smoke. Was a small amount of black smoke to start but all gone now. But guess what! She is leaking diesel :-s. and it appears from some kind I overflow? I know it shouldn't have an overflow that just pours it on to the floor but there is a hose that leads straight down and is factory fitted in position so that's a little odd to me

I think you are on about the leak off pipe for the rocker box, i would guess that one of the small diesel return pipes on the top of the injectors has snapped off or is not connected so the well in the rocker box is filling with diesel.

Well you would be right :-). Just took the cover of and could see straight away. I've now reconnected the hose and cleaned up all the wasted fuel but I'm back with black smoke now and not as much power as it used to have

Hi depending on year injectors need to be coded or split charge pressure hose both would give black smoke /lack of power

It's an 04, would you know if this year would need coding?

I would think it would best bet to check on star
