Hi, back yet again but with a new issue...... recently changed the front discs on my 03 e class 320 cdi. But have the same issue of squeeling front brakes and at various speeds it’s on and off as if the discs are warped but obviously not as they are NEW ! I would of thought by now that the pads would have evened themselves out by now but doesn’t sound like it ???? Also I think especially after quite hard braking it feels like they stick as from standstill sometimes the car seems to roll better sometimes than others ????

Did you polish the hub face first before fitting new discs ?

Did you remove the rust protective coating, if any, off the disc face with brake cleaner?

Why do you think that the noise is caused by warped brakes? Are there vibrations under braking as well?

You only mentioned replacing discs, did you use the old pads or new ones ?

The old disc s were warped as I found out just 2 weeks after buying car...... was horrendous wheel wobble but squeeling just the same but old pads have plenty ware left so kept them.

So the new discs are not causing wheel wobble so why assume they are warped?

The noise is almost certainly due odd wear patterns on the old pads trying to contact against the new discs, it is recommended that you replace pads when replacing discs. Did you remove the pads from the caliper, clean the caliper and apply new copper-ease or similar paste to the pads?

If there was a coating then you could have contaminated the pads. you need to remove the pads and use sand paper to create a fresh surface to work with.

^ The OP needs to throw those old pads in the bin and get some new ones.
I was told you never replace the discs without new pads as well.

I would also check the pistons in the calipers are moving freely and not sticking.
And when the caliper is off, remove the disc and ensure the hub mating face is spotlessly clean.

Hubs are now cleaned up. There is no wheel wobble with the new disc s just the squeeling issue but I will see if they do it still tomorrow when I nip to lincoln. And no I haven’t cleaned the Calipers but did put paste behind the pads which do sit straight within the calipers but maybe aren’t levelling up to the disc s..... if the noise continues I will purchase new pads next week. Just a shame as the current pads have atleast 1/2 life left !
