Hi Guys

I recently collected my c63 cabriolet and am finding that my brakes are squeaking when I brake.

Had a similar problem with the c63 w205 saloon also and when speaking to the dealership was advised that MB was aware of the issue and it was something to do with no asbestos being used in the pads?!

With the roof down the noise is embarrasing! What would you guys advise?

Thanks in advance for your help, views and advice.

Ask the dealership to replace the pads with some ceramic ones (eg:EBC Redstuff) FOC of course:D

I will do...

Is that something they can/will do if I am persistent enough?

Well if you don't ask you don't get, but I doubt the main dealer would be prepared to fit aftermarket pads to be honest.
Whatever, squealing brakes are nasty and you shouldn't have to put up with them.

No never.

Mine only squealed when they needed to be changed. New pads all round every 12k miles so I've ordered some porterfield pads from the USA. I heard a few good reviews that say better braking, no noise and way less brake dust. Not too expensive either.

Never had a problem in 15 months and 15,000 miles.....

I went to see the my dealer (Leics MB) who showed me a bulletin from AMG that the squeaky brake issue was acknowledged by them. They later contacted me to replace the front pads and now squeaking gone!!

if they are squeaking its basically a write off.

I will be happy to buy the car off you for 25% of the market price with this in mind :D
