srs ecu change - how close part numbers?

I have a 2003 e320 cdi estate (IL6) I have a problem srs ecu that has locked up with with multiple fault codes - repeating groups of 3.

How close a match does a replacement ecu part number have to be?

Do the bar codes have to match or just the part numbers?

My part No. is 002 21 26(81) with a Q2 in a box and ARMIN 3 3i 6481
I can match all these but not the 2 long barcode numbers.

Ahh you missed out the 820 in you original post

Yes you need to match the 0028202126, the barcodes will not match. Plenty on ebay.

Interesting though I cannot find the part number in EPC

Replacement module from Ebay (£25) and all is well again.
