Hi guys

hoping I can get some help on my mother-in-laws MB.

The dash is showing an SRS error, something along the lines of "restraint system....visit workshop". (it didnt specify a seat location).

I hooked it up to a diag machine and Im getting the code "9CFF The squib for pyrofuse onboard electrical network line has excessively low resistance". And datastream shows "resistance of ignition circuit of pyrofuse is 0.55 ohm".

Does this point to a faulty Pyrofuse?

Backstory..

Earlier in the year the car wouldnt tick over. Suspecting a starter motor issue it went to the garage.. they said it was the battery, they charged it and the car started.

Same thing occurred again so we replaced the battery and the car started.

Problem occurred again so we replaced the starter motor.

RAC who replaced the starter motor said they had to jump start the car to get it to turn over after they had replaced the SM.

thanks!

Did they accidently break the pyro fuse on the battery positive terminal when they changed the battery, or maybe disconnected it? That's what I did and had to buy a partial wiring loom to replace the pyro fuse for the airbag system. Its a yellow / blue connector on the positive battery terminal. Easy to miss and easy to break.

im not entirely sure tbf.

It was me who replaced the battery, but that was weeks ago and there was no issue after this. Coincidentally, this only became a thing after RAC replaced the starter motor.

I will have to have a good look at the Pyrofuse when Im next back there.

you got a link for replacement bit?

So, she cant start the car again today.
went over and the pyrofuse squib was out a little.
Took it off fully and the plastic bit that holds it in had snapped inside.
Managed to get that back on the squib and pushed it all together but I had to jump start the car, think the battery is fubar.
Got a replacement battery coming tomorrow so we'll see how that goes..
though at this point im not sure if this will clear the SRS error once the battery is in.
