S320 CDI
Hello all,

I'm new to these forums and MB, I hope to contribute in the future once my knowledge of my car builds. I have been posting on VW and BMW forums for years.

Anyway, I have a W220 51 plate S Class 320cdi.

I have had a number of problems that I have managed to sort out myself, apart from one. The SRS light.

I thought it was the seat sensor so fitted a bypass. Codes were read at every stage. The light remains on.

I am now told by a Mercedes specialist that the light is a result of the instrument cluster being changed.

The instrument cluster was replaced before I purchased the car, due to the old one failing.

The specialist is telling me it could take 4 or 5 hours to recode the new cluster.

Can anyone offer any advice or point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Sorry not me but others may be along who can.

Very warm welcome to the forum.

They can suffer with this after cluster change

It can be as simple as a coding issue but shouldn't be any more than a diagnostic charge or hours labour.
I have had this a few times, but not for a while It used to be a problem with the model year in the cluster.
Can take a while to find it as there is a lot if coding a in the cluster.
It would need to be done on a Star machine
