Hi all, so really hoping somebody out there can finally give me a solution to my on going airbag module problems. ?? I have a CLK 209 2005 carbriloet with SRS light on dash, failed mot on this only. Local Mercedes said needs a new module as you cannot reprogramme exsisting. Fault codes are 9263 9283 which apparently relate to rear side air bags, it has not got them fitted, never has had. No SRS badges on rear side panels, panels removed no air bags and no wiring to connect them to loom, so definarely never fitted. From all research I have done apparently it is just a tick that needs removing in the initial start procedure on module. Mercedes main dealer say it cannot be done, yet I have seen a video of it being done on You Tube, using Autel Marxists. I have contacted so many alleged specialists with differing opinions and still not managing to find answer. Can this be done in car, original module unlocked and reprogrammed, should I remove module and send away, buy a matching second hand one ??? Would a working matching one work straight away after fitting or will it need exsiting data from original transferring But would that retain the same fault code. If the original Airbag module is faulty why can you still communicate with it ??? So many variants, just need a honest problem solving answer. I love the car it has only done 34,000 genuine miles from new. I am a 71 year old lady and have really tried to solve problem but am about to give up. Why do they make these things so complicated. I would really appreciate some knowledgable, honest person pointing me in the right direction.
