SRS Problem C32 amg W203

Hi everyone

I am the proud owner of a 2004 c32 amg that i bruoght 30th Nov 2009,
I brought the car cheep at 9k it has 64000 on the clock but it does come with some small issues. First problem is my SRS light seems to come on only when a passenger is seated, is this a comon fault that can be sorted out easly or is it an expensive pay out for parts? labour isnt an issue as i am a mechanic/body fitter, would be greatful for some help, will post some photo's soon!

Usually this turns out to be a problem with the seat sensor on the pasenger seat ...

It might even be a problem with the connector under the seat , just wiggling it sometimes can fix it.

do they have weight sensor in the passanger seat?
so it doesnt go off if no one is sitting init!

I MIGHT have seen that car on autotrader, the car has been in a crash and the rear bumper is not the original AMG bumper it was a standard merc bumper...

Is the car black by any chance? on a 53 plate?

SRS is that a problem with the airbag??? take it to mercedes for a quick check..

yes it is i did a check on it and all is fine there are some body work issues but i work at an accident repair company! priced at £9800 got it for £9000

The car does need stuff doing but it's a bargin buy!!

Take it to mercedes for a quick check up, that way you will know exactly what you need to do!!

How did you know that this was not an AMG rear bumper did you view the car?
Does an AMG rear bumper bulge out more?

Member Trainer had a C32 with a non AMG bumper... think it was Cat D - same car?

No this vehicle has a clean hpi (ET53NZG)

I have had a c32 amg in the past and I could tell it's not an AMG bumper by just looking at the pictures.

Upload some images and i'm sure memebers on here will tell you the same.

Yes Jay well remembered I too have the non AMG rear bumper but my car is silver. I will look to change it next year if I can get hold of one. Black C32 let me know if you can find a bumper.

will definately be the sensor pad, real bugger to fit. i think i still have a spare i removed from some old seats somewere.

Ebay have one £575 but its from taiwan i think and a lot of dosh for a pattern part, might find out how much from MB but this is going to be a new mortgage, Now i know this isnt an amg bumper it bugs me:

I woudnt worry much, what matters is the engine that's the heart of the beast, as long as that thing is safe then all can be sorted in time!

Seems like the previous owner did not look after it well, it's a shame because these cars are collectors item's!
