STAR Expert needed Sussex/Kent area

Hi,

I need some help. The previous owner had the glow plugs coded out via STAR on my w211 V6 cdi. I want them back!

You could/should try Andy at Wright-Tec Mercedes. Sandy Lane - Sidcup. He is a Merc Specialist and recommended by many on here. A small family business he will look after you and he understands how to drive STAR.
Give him a Google. He is only 5 minutes off the M25.

The previous owner had a glow plug snap. To prevent the light being constantly on on the dashboard he had it coded out via STAR according to the SH.

I've now had all 6 glow plugs changed along with the glow plug relay and they still don't work making starting in the mornings difficult.

At the same time my service indicator won't set and the oil level function is N/A.

Hence the need for someone who knows the full in's and out's of the system.

I have used these John Haynes Mercedes - Home Based virtually in Worthing. Only once though for complete gearbox rebuild. No complaints from me and not heard of any from others.

So I took the car to Wright- Tec in Sidcup today.

Very helpful indeed- thanks for the tip.

The glow plugs now look to be sorted but a cold start in the morning will soon tell once and for all.

Service indicator still not working though. Weird! I guess my local garage tried to reset it after its last service and buggered it up. Any ideas how get it sorted again would be welcome.
