Hmmmmmmm.

JJ has a habit of playing fast and loose with the audience - eg. in the Star Trek reboot any proper feeling of time or distance is expedient to whatever pace he wants to deliver to the audience. His trick is to try and not give you time to think.

Whatever crimes you thought were comitted on the Star Wars prequels have had equivalents or worse committed on the last two Star Trek movies - but the noise and atmosphere and pace seemed to make them permissable - so JJ gets away with it.

ILM is Visual effects, i.e. CGI, this time they have gone back to old ways, making sets and models and good old fashion pyrotechnics.. which is what I do...
