Steering angle sensor broken

I have a 2011 ML 350cdi and accidently put the steering wheel back on 1 turn out. After turning sharply the ESP light came on and diagnosis reports a steering angle sensor fault.
Can this part be repaired or must it be replaced?

I meant I split the steering linkage and it was accidently rotated 1 turn before reconnecting.

Ouch. It's a new sensor. Just had mine replaced.

Thought that might be the case . . .
I see on ebay you can get a steering wheel angle sensor clip and I was hoping it was this that had broken? Guess I'll find out when I take it apart.
