07 S320LCDI, 06 ML320,02 CL600 gone replaced by 07 CL 63 AMG.R230 SL500.
My W221 S class has had some work done during an annual service at an authorised dealership. well it now handles terribly, and has a noticable drift to the left on even the most level surfaces.
They have had the car for the last four weeks and just tell me that everything is "within Tolerance" and there is no more they can do.
I have taken the car to a race and track car specialist. he has spent several hours on the car. he says the Steering Angle Sensor is out 3.5^ and needs to be reset to 0^ with the steering wheel centered for him to get it exactly correct. Can this be done on "star"?

You will probably find the angle sensor is fine it's just everything else that's out, did you have suspension work done?

it started when they replaced the bottom ball joint arms and returned the car to me with the steering off centre.
they also replaced all the brake calipers and a rear shock!!

everything seems ok on readouts from a couple of 4 wheel alignment machines.

I trust this current guy as he has worked on a lot of cars that I know but I just want to know can the SAS be reset to zero as he suggested

Unsure if it can, there only designed to go a certain amount of turns in either direction, if everything else seems in order maybe try moving the steering wheel one spline in either direction to see if you get 0:0 with a straight steering wheel.

I have gad this when customers provide there own suspension components and go for the cheapest they can get.
Make sure genuine mercedes or lemforder parts were used.
I know that you can reset the steering angle sensor off set on most mercedes models with the star diagnostics. Some models you do it in ESP & others in steering wheel control module.
I doubt that is the fault more likely to be with the parts replaced.
