Car has a knocking coming from the nsf, noticeable on poor road surfaces. Was taken to local indie who advised spring was broken which was duly replaced however the knocking still exists... Took it back to the garage who had a look over all suspension components which were found to be sound. They advised that the steering rack has movement at the joints and would need replaced after detaching various components from suspension.
Car is 2006 A150 fmbsh and only at 55k miles passed MOT in November, I know the series 1 A class had issues but was under the impression the series 2 was updated....Anybody know of faults on this model A Class? Cost quoted for repair is probably more than car is worth only had it over 1 year!!
Cheers

I had some knocking noise on rough surfaces (but not over speed bumps or pot holes) on an older A170CDI (W168) with about 60K miles. After replacing various front suspension components like drop links etc, it turns out to be the front brake caliper being loose and needing a new caliper holder with new screws etc.
