Hi my son has bought s W211 E500 and it has a fancy alcantara trimmed steering wheel form a clk C208 fitted. However there seems to be no actual airbag internals as the centre is all soft unlike with an airbag in it.
Also the steering wheel controls dont work or the horn.
Now can he just replace the airbag with one from a C209 off ebay. Also the squib (clock) ring will need replacing as its coming up with steering angle sensor fault.
Does he use one for a W212 or a C209 because of the steering wheel

Sorry C209 not C208. I have seen a W211 AMG steering wheel on ebay. It looks the same shape airbag and steering wheel controls as my sons one. Albeit my lads has been retrimmed in Alcantara and has a flat bottom to it

This is the one in my lads car
