Hi,

Please excuse me if I appear to be niaive! I/We own a Merc C220 Cdi classic on an 02 plate. We have a couple of niggly problems on this otherwise wonderful car and we are in the process of working through them one by one.

The next one to tackle is the annoying fact that the indicator to turn right will not stay on. I am guessing that the wheel is slightly out of aline and that is why it does not stay on. Am I on the right track? If it is likely that that is the problem is it easy to remove the wheel and adjust it or do I need to take it somewhere to be done. I/We are not particulary good at these things but are learning, we have managed to replace the passenger door locking mechanism so far, if that gives you some idea of our capabilities.

Many thanks for your help.

Karen

p.s. Black55 if you are reading this can I ask you if you use your "Star" machine will that tell me which "stepper arm" on the air conditioning is broken? I tried to PM you but it won't let me as I am a new member. Many thanks.:o

Assuming that Mercedes put the steering wheel on straight, it would be prudent to find out why it's now misaligned.

It could be the wheel has been replace one spline out, but it could also be indicative of bent steering or suspension components.

Yes it will.

The fault with your indicators will be due to a faulty combination switch (indicator stalk)

Welcome too.

Oh oh.. this might be harder than it seems...

BlackC55 I am assuming your bit of kit will tell me that too? I am quite local to you. How much is it to do the "star" test and do you suggest I come to you and get it done?

It is so nice to find a friendly Merc person.

Thanks.

The Star won't tell me if the switch is faulty but and experienced eye will ;)

Give me a call on 02392 570123 to discuss if you wish.

The name is Olly BTW

Olly did you resolve this? I've got a similar problem
