how easy is it to change the oil stem seals on a 2.3 16v 190e as i had to tak the head of because of no compresion in one of the pots so i though over haul of the haed as it is of.
Plus i have very bad pitting on the face of ihe inlet valves an very slight pitting on the seal edge should i change them all.

Why not give the head to an engineering firm who specialises in doing valves and heads

Yes thats the best thing to as they will set up the head for you so that you can just bolt it back on.

This will save you alot of hassle as they should set all your shims correctly.

As the head is off, give it a full overhaul.

One of the most important parts of the engine. Treat it with respect and have a GOOD Engineering company do the work. Also ask for a guarantee.
