Ok, so my C180 has the good old "sticky needle syndrome" the petrol guage and speedometer quite often take a while to start working, particularly bad in cold weather. Once they are working, if i stop, the accelerator needle sticks to the pin again, and so on.

This is starting to get quite infuriating, and i was wondering, is there any way to clean the needles and pins without removing the instrument panel unit?

Just read post number #9 to #15 here… http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/68187-speedo-issue-1995-c180-w202.html … the lazy mans guide to doing it. I don’t think it’s a good way of going about it as it messes up the appearance of your cluster but you have to hand it to this guy for doing it the easy way.
