Never happens to me but a friend has just bought an absolutely mint 74 450sl lovingly (and I mean lovingly) restored using genuine oem panels and components over a 20 year period by a really good body chap. Price? he paid what the guy asked for £1600 - doh!

Is that what he really paid, or what his wife thinks he paid?? :D

That's a lot of car for the money.

Wow, that is an amazing price even for a knackered early R107, if its any good, he got the bargain of the century.

Why can't i find one like that?

Yes thats exactly what he paid but I know what you mean.:rolleyes:Fortunately his wife is really into cars and is currently awaiting completion of a very rare 69 lincoln continental 2 door which she will drive as a daily. The price she paid? £2k double doh! As far as the 450 is concerned as he says he is now "stuck" with it cos he feels unable to move it on at the true market value. Its a hard life:thumb:

WOW, you'd be lucky to get a non-runner for that! Some people have all the luck!
