stop and tail light dillemma

what is it with rear side and brake lights with clk`s??
mine and almost every clk i see has either one dimm,one off,or one bright rear tail light. is something up!! is it a sign?? or is it a secret club..... or am i just seeing `red` (or not in my case.in the offside cluster)

Both my clk's were fine! Bulbs can be a different power rating im mb's than is common, and if you buy from petrol stations etc, you might get what looks the same, but is actually different. This difference in power rating can then other bulbs to die early as well...

this is a strange one.ive installed the right bulbs but every time i switch my main beam leats on i get offside tail glowing really bright,when i switch side lights on,its really dim???

sounds almost like you are switching on the fogs....

when the light switch is puleld it turns on the fogs - you could (almost) be doing this accidently..

i know what you mean,and yes i thought that at first,but the fogs are not on?? if i put the fogs on then both rear are bright.i switch em off and oly one is??

Please make sure you have the correct dual filament bulbs for the foglamps, firstly you should only have ONE foglamp come on at the rear, but the bulb on BOTH sides needs to be dual filament. You can get some very strange effects if you put a dual filament in the wrong slot or a single filament where a dual is needed!

Ever seen a ford escort/fiesta/sierra indicate while braking and the whole tail lamp cluster dims? That's bad earthing, could also be that, check the wiring at the rear.
