I've been gifted a pair of front brake discs for an R230 SL55 AMG.
Could they be retro fitted to my R129 SL500 and if they could would it be worth the effort?
Thanks for any help and advice.

I doubt they`ll be any good for your calipers

Would've been better if you'd been 'gifted' the Calipers instead!

Most discs are cheap.

Pretty much anything can be done if you throw enough money and resources at it.

But that doesn't necessarily meant it should be :thumb:

If you can lock the wheels (or cause the ABS to operate) now, they won't make one millimetre of difference to your stopping distance.

As Stratman has alluded to, the main factor in your stopping distance in normal driving is the grip level between tyres and road (assuming the vehicle has been maintained).

What you can improve on is consistency (mainly under duress - repeated stops from high speed for example), but that's only valid if the usage warrants it.
