Could I ask any members who have a last release of the W212/S212 to check for stowage compartments under front seats?

My E300 2014 has these drop down stowage compartments under both front seats.

I have just gone out to the new car E350 2016 year to put a fire extinguisher in the drop down storage and there is none under either seat, the seats look as though it should have these.

The hand book and in car manual shows the should be there and in fact states this is where the extinguisher is placed.

I would like to have my facts right before approaching the dealership.

They were an optional extra on my 2012 c class that I had but have not got them on my 2015 e class coupe.

I picked this snippet up on the USA-centric MB World forum when I was browsing yesterday, and thought it may be some US market thing, but apparently not.

It'll be interesting to hear your dealer's explanation...

BTW, my previous E63 had the Fire Extinguisher option and it was, indeed, stowed in the drop-down storage bin at the front of the driver's seat.

Parts catalogue shows them only present (on W212) if you have one of the following option codes: -
450 Taxi (only on LHD and only left seat)
954 Avantgarde trim
955 Elegance trim
953 Classic trim but only if you have 682 (fire extinguisher)

- The fire-extinguisher box is different to without fire-extinguisher (I guess it has a bracket in it and/or a fire extinguisher sign on it)

So I guess you have a Classic, but no fire extinguisher

They are OK to retrofit- a bit of drilling, the box and some other bits per seat

We've got them on ours. (16 plate).

Maybe they're included on the premium pack.

Ant.

The only difference I could determine was the fire extinguisher sign on mine.

If I purchase these can they be fitted with seats in situ or would they need to be removed?

Specification and where to buy a fire extinguisher?

Hi...

I have a 2009 SL350 (R230) which has the drop-down fire extinguisher compartment beneath the driver's seat. Unfortunately, the fire extinguisher is long-gone, so I would like to replace if possible. Most of the commercial fire extinguishers on the market are either too large (1kg) or too long.
Does anybody have any information about the correct specification/manufacturer/type of fire extinguisher I should be seeking please? (An indication of typical price would be useful also!).
MAny thanks

My seats are the same as yours and this I just took out to photograph, hope it helps:

I Googled Gloria and found this:

Wish I'd seen this post before I bought an incompatible one for mine.

It now lives in my workshop just in case I set fire to something... :D

Sorry to revive an old thread...

Does anyone please have an alternatives to the "Gloria P1DB Feuerlöscher Auto 1 kg ABC Pulverlöscher" extinguisher referred to in renault12ts's post above
which seems to be unobtainable in the UK.

The link to Amazon Germany still works, but my German is too poor to buy through that link!

I have an extinguisher in one of my MGs which is 1kg, & I hoped would fit, but it's an inch or so too long.

Well my W221 S320 had the fire extinguisher under the drivers seat and the medical first aid under the passenger seat.

In the end I drove to Halfords, and found their Fireblitz FBP800 800g BC Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher @ £15.00.

It's 800g rather than 1,000g, but otherwise fits the bill. 5 year warranty (if you can find the receipt)!

Problem solved.
